The Church Needs More Vegetarians. Here’s Why:

Who really likes beef anyway? It’s hard to chew, hard to swallow, stressful, sometimes you break a sweat, and it ends in division. People tend to cling to the “latest beef” when in the church house when really…we need MORE VEGETARIANS.

I read this two nights ago, maybe three.. but it REALLY made me think. I’ve read this before but I did a heart check -as I NEED to do regularly. Do I genuinely want the best for my brothers and sisters in the body of Christ? Even if I’m rubbed the wrong way don’t agree with them?

I can HONESTLY, WHOLEHEARTEDLY say YES. Why? Because we are ALL parts of the body. I’m the dadgum toenail to the big toe. We need the toenails, we need the big toes, the ears, arms, etc. We are all on the SAME mission or need to get with it lol. It’s not about ME. Or just my family. It’s about HIM. Jesus. 🥹 Jesus gives us a new commandment and says to love one another just as He has loved us in John 13:34. We have to love and want the best for one another. We need all parts of the body. We love each other because He loved us first. (We don’t all have to be best buds, just love)

We all can get offended if we sit on it too long and some actions are offendable. My husband told me something that has stuck in my heart.. when you have the mindset, heart posture “I’m just here to serve,” you are UNoffendable. It ain’t happening jack. Sister Sue can say the most wild thing.. “I’m just here to serve”, everything slides off. Let your true heart posture be to serve in whatever capacity UNTO God, not man. The moment your/my heart shifts off of “I’m just here to serve” offense tries to get on like mosquitos. Now you got the West Nile virus of offenses.

I’m sharing this because it’s real. I’m hoping this will set even one person free or challenge you to humble yourselves and check your heart. We all need to. DAILY.

Because we need one another. God needs to use us and He can’t use us if we are distracted by unnecessary quarreling and if we have hardened hearts towards one another.

The verse I cling to is psalm 51:10 create in me and clean heart O God and renew and right and steadfast spirit within me. That is my daily prayer.

I want to be used by God however He needs me doing whatever He needs me to do. Truly. Serving brings healing to me. It heals my heart and fills me back up. Anyway that’s my rant now here’s the scripture I read the other night 👇♥️

“Little children (believers, dear ones), do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who practices righteousness [the one who strives to live a consistently honorable life—in private as well as in public—and to conform to God’s precepts] is righteous, just as He is righteous.

For this is the message which you [believers] have heard from the beginning [of your relationship with Christ], that we should [unselfishly] love and seek the best for one another; Everyone who hates (works against) his brother [in Christ] is [at heart] a murderer [by God’s standards]; and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

By this we know [and have come to understand the depth and essence of His precious] love: that He [willingly] laid down His life for us [because He loved us]. And we ought to lay down our lives for the believers. Little children (believers, dear ones), let us not love [merely in theory] with word or with tongue [giving lip service to compassion], but in action and in truth [in practice and in sincerity, because practical acts of love are more than words].

By this we will know [without any doubt] that we are of the truth, and will assure our heart and quiet our conscience before Him whenever our heart convicts us [in guilt]; for God is greater than our heart and He knows all things [nothing is hidden from Him because we are in His hands].

This is His commandment, that we believe [with personal faith and confident trust] in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and [that we unselfishly] love and seek the best for one another, just as He commanded us.

The one who habitually keeps His commandments [obeying His word and following His precepts, abides and] remains in Him, and He in him. By this we know and have the proof that He [really] abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us [as a gift].”
